On behalf of Robert Griggs, the president of East West Cultural Exchange Foundation and Grand Master Shi Deru, Shawn Liu USA National Team Head Coach and the foundation delegation leader, we would like to sincerely request that you serve as a sponsor for the US National Wushu-Kungfu team of over 20 members to go to China, March 5-22, 2008. Your sponsorship is vital in two ways: First, it would help the team participate in the upcoming “Welcome Olympic Games Cup”, but it would also assist their efforts to promote a multicultural and multiracial education exchange program which is aimed at bringing better understanding between the people of the U.S. and the people of China. The delegation is sponsored and organized by the East West Cultural Exchange Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, the United States of America Sanshou Kungfu Federation and the LIU International. It will be lead by Grand Master Shi Deru.

With your help, following the championship, March 7-11, the US team along with a delegation of health conscious professionals, and students will travel together with Chinese local hosts to visit nearby Chinese Families, communities, schools, and universities to learn and better understand ancient China and its people. For 10 days these people of two continents, from completely different backgrounds with different belief systems, and entirely different languages will have to work together; ultimately coexisting and experiencing together whatever they encounter. It is hoped that this experience will mark one more step toward creating a more harmonious world in which we all live. To educate greater audience, this entire trip will be produced by Silver Wave Film Production in coordination with CCTV as a documentary to be released later in the year.

We appreciate your support in making this US team not only a winning team at the “Welcome Olympic Games Cup” but a good diplomatic people-to-people cultural exchange delegation. Your generous contribution will help us provide our US team traveling and hotel expenses during and after the games in China, help the team alleviate the cost of uniforms and training expenses for the ardent preparation before the event.

Your support will enable us to achieve our goals in participating and winning the world event medals in this life time event in China. It will also help them to promote the East West cultural exchange and world peace and understanding. What is this multicultural and multiracial education exchange program?

During the trip, they will learn from each other to be proactive to seek real life solutions instead of becoming each others’ problem.  They must be responsible for their own lives but also learn to help one another, to coordinate and communicate with each other so as to create synergies to enrich each other’s life on the journey. They learn to lead by good example with character and integrity to care and understand. They rediscover their true nature, to enlighten and empower, to be compassionate, and harmonious with the environment to be truly happy with one another and treasure their lives together.
