The ancient city of Li Jiang, hidden within the modern, and very typical Chinese, city of Li Jiang, is quite the site to behold. Nestled in a valley, with views of Yu Long Xue Shan in the distance, the ancient city dates back many hundreds of years, some of the areas of the city being over a thousand years old. A river that ran through the valley was redirected and split into a system of canals, which run through the ancient city, to bring water to the inhabitants, and cart waste and sewerage away.
